Our main Crown Paints manufacturing plant in Hull, East Yorkshire is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the team. As an industry-leading paint manufacturer, we are dedicated to crafting exceptional products that transform spaces and inspire creativity. This is a night shift role, working the following shifts: Sunday Night 00.00 to 06.00, Monday to Thursday night 22.15 to 06.00.

Technicians are the unsung heroes of the engineering world, turning ideas into reality through their expertise and precision. We are looking for someone to carry out routine maintenance, inspections, repairs and troubleshooting of plant machinery to ensure optimum performance and minimise downtime. In the world of engineering, technicians are the gears that keep everything moving smoothly



Here are some of the other things you can look forward to:

  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Utilise technical expertise to support process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
  • Analyse equipment data, identifying trends and implementing proactive measures to prevent potential issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to the production team to optimise manufacturing processes.


What will you need to be successful?

  • Diploma or degree in engineering or a related field / ONC in Engineering Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience as an Engineering Technician, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Ideally experience of installing and commissioning projects and knowledge of Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work meticulously to ensure accuracy in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and provide technical support.
  • Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and learning.
  • All round understanding of current business functions and processes including raw materials, manufacturing, filling and packaging
  • Counter balance FLT preferable
  • MEWP licensed and IOSH qualified
