Ripening Assistant
Location - Teynham, Maidstone
Salary - £26,500 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours - Shift pattern, 5 days in 7, 6 am – 3 pm (40 hrs per week)

The successful candidate will aid in the maintaining of high standards and quality in the final stages of product preparations and care
Our client a leading produce supplier is looking for a Ripening Assistant to work in their team at Teynham. The ideal candidate will have a background in produce manufacturing and quality standards
Responsibilities would include:
- Morning and Afternoon pressure checks
- Process checks for protocols, ice monitor, capacity tracker
- Liaise with customers for daily ripening updates and any special requirements
- Daily checks on Smart Harvest to ensure ripening systems management is adhered to
- Complete and send daily ripening guide
- Daily loading of ripeners against customer forecast
- Maintain accurate ripening records
- Update customers on quality of fruit and any concerns about defects progressing during the ripening process
Specification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a fresh produce role
- Fruit controls and processes
- Microsoft office including excel to an intermediate level
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Must be driven to high standards and seek best quality results
- Flexible approach would be a distinct advantage for the role
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Results focussed
- Excellent Team working
