About us

The Centre for Access to Justice (CAJ) at UCL Faculty of Laws aims to provide significant benefit to, and strengthen links between, the local community, UCL students and the legal profession. Importantly, the Centre combines the unique advantages of social justice education with the provision of pro bono legal advice to vulnerable communities. In January 2016, the UCL Centre for Access to Justice (CAJ) launched its own legal advice clinic, the UCL Integrated Legal Advice Clinic (UCL iLAC), working with students to deliver advice across a broad spectrum of social welfare issues as well as specialist casework services in welfare benefits, housing, community care, and education law. In 2018, UCL iLAC was awarded a legal aid contract in the categories of housing and community care law. In 2022, the clinic was awarded a legal aid lawyer of the year award.

About the role

The CAJ is looking for a paralegal to support with and undertake supervised casework across welfare benefits, housing, and community care cases. The paralegal will also assist with new client triage and general administrative duties at UCL iLAC in Stratford. For suitable candidates, we are open to the possibility of this role becoming a training contract in due course. Please note that the successful candidate will be asked to undertake a basic DBS check. A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
