To communicate effectively with women and their families throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages under the supervision of the Registered Midwife/Supervisor.
To diagnose pregnancy, assess and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages through the use of a range of assessment methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive conclusions under the supervision of the Registered Midwife/Mentor.
To work towards the midwifery standards of proficiency that is contained in the Practice assessment documents.
To work towards achieving experience under supervision of the activities of the midwife as outlined in the European Union Midwives Directive (80/155/EEC Article 4).
