Location: Uttoxeter – Elkes Biscuits
Salary up to £25,000 depending on experience
Monday to Friday (site based)
About Us:
We are currently recruiting for a driven and diligent Finance Assistant to join an established finance team at our Uttoxeter site.
We provide retailer own label biscuits to all the major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidl in addition to the Elkes brand.
Elkes Biscuits has real heritage in both the local area and within the industry. In the early 1900s Samuel Elkes opened a confectionery shop in Uttoxeter and in 1928 a purpose-built biscuit factory was opened on the current site. The bakery is known for the biscuit barrel and is the home of the Malted Milk biscuits along with producing Ginger biscuits, Farley's Rusks, Custard Creams, Chocolate Digestive Bars, Oaties and Digestives.
We operate 24/7 so we’re looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is driven to support the wider team.
About the Role:
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will be tasked with processing and preparing financial information for the business. The role will support with reporting duties and will cover administration tasks such as raising purchase orders, dealing with invoice queries, and supporting with Payroll where needed.
It is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of financial duties within a market leading organisation.
Other duties of the role will include:
- Processing and preparation of financial reports on a timely basis
- Perform routine calculations to produce analysis and reports as requested by Finance management
- Weekly payroll processing completed on time for Finance to compete weekly reporting
- Resolution of queries raised by the business
- Suggesting improvements to aid process accuracy and efficiency
About You:
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong grounding in Financial Administration, ideally within a large-scale organisation. Excellent communication skills will be essential as well as the drive to take on new challenges and make a real impact to a business. Experience with SAP would be preferable but not essential as well as formal finance training.
