About this role

Job Purpose/Background:


With the continued growth of BlackRock Real Estate, we are seeking a Director level candidate to join our Real Estate Equity team as a member of Product Strategy in London. As part of this global team the candidate will drive product development, fundraising and investor relations across our European Real Estate Funds.


The Director will in particular focus on supporting the future growth of our platform and servicing the existing clients across BlackRock Real Estate Equity. In this function, the candidate will be working closely with other BlackRock teams such as our Alternatives Sales Specialists, Client Relationship Management, Consultant Relations, Risk & Analytics, Legal & Compliance and Operations & Admin.


This London based role will be exposed to a variety of investment and investor themes, will develop a strong understanding of a range of investment strategies within Real Estate and will work very closely with all members of BlackRock Global Real Estate Equity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising strategy & execution: partnership with distribution and PM teams to prepare and execute a comprehensive fundraising and marketing campaign, contributing to the AUM growth of the business.

  • Drive Investor Relations for the existing global clients of BlackRock Real Estate Equity

  • Closely work with various stakeholders on client fund updates, quarterly client reporting and ongoing investor queries

  • Responsible for client materials, meeting preparations and due diligence support

  • Drive planning, positioning and distribution preparation for ongoing product development.

  • Work in close partnership with GPG and take a lead on marketing and communications to support brand and product development.

  • Creation of and regular updates to marketing materials and research-based presentation content.


Knowledge / Experience:

  • Commercial, analytical and communication skills are essential to this role, particularly the ability to distil complex structural and financial issues into plain language..

  • Experience in Investor Relations or Product Strategy function(s), ideally in private markets

  • Knowledge of Real Estate Equity investment environment is preferable

  • Knowledge of global fundraising campaign management

  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, familiar with statistical analysis

  • Disciplined organizational and project management skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to synthesize complex ideas

  • Ability to work as part of an internationally distributed team

  • Demonstrated record of academic achievement and leadership
