CI Continuous Improvement Intern / Graduate - Oldham - Food Manufacturing
Park Cakes is a c£180 million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers, there are three sites based in the North West at Heywood, Oldham and Bolton.
Our products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, we mostly supply Marks & Spencer’s although we also supply other major retailers.
We have previously had internships that provide an introduction to our business, from this program potential graduates have gone on to join the business on a permanent basis. This role is initially for 6 months although may lead to a permanent role with commensurate Graduate salary.
Example Accountabilities
This role is specifically within our CI i.e. Continuous Improvement Department which is involved across several departments to analyse how we operate to make changes to improve our business.
You’ll learn about quality, data analysis and general business processes and get experience across a wide range of Departments and across all levels of the business and have training in Kaizen methodologies.
Candidate Attributes
This intern position is for Graduates / HND or equivalent / similar looking to gain some business experience.

- Good organisational skills in a busy environment
- Computer literate in Microsoft packages
- Able to work individually or as part of a team
- Able to meet deadlines
- Flexible approach to work
Hours Hours for these positions are typically 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm on a Friday but flexibility across shifts is required.
