Faculty of Health and Life Sciences


This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.


We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements.


This new full–time post is available from 1st July 2023 on a fixed term basis until 30th June 2024.


The post

The Faculty of Health & Life Sciences wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Prof Katie Lunnon. This Alzheimer’s Research UK funded post is available from 1st July 2023 for one year. The successful applicant, who will be involved in overseeing the day-to-day running of the project, coordinating data collection and analysis will ideally have a broad knowledge of gene regulatory mechanisms in Dementia, with previous experience of bioinformatics. Previous experience of manipulating and analysing high dimensional data-sets is essential using R and Unix. Previous experience of analysing sequencing data would be an advantage.


About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.


Applicants will be educated to PhD level or possess and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will have experience of using key programming skills to analyse large data-sets.
