BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for assisting Management in the overall operation of the outlet in accordance with management objectives. Restaurant Supervisor must devote the majority of his/her time to floor supervision to ensure guest satisfaction as a first priority of responsibility.
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities
1. Ensure that department goals are communicated, understood, and met by all restaurant staff.
2. Council staff on work related concerns and issues to ensure satisfaction and productivity enlisting the support of management as needed.
3. Work with management to ensure that restaurant staff have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs including supplies, equipment and inventory.
4. Work with management to ensure the restaurant staff clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities and performance expectations.
5. Act as a "bridge" between management and restaurant staff to facilitate department operations including keeping managers appraised of staff activities, issues, and challenges.
6. Enforce compliance of department specific safety standards.
7. Collaborate with management to recognize and celebrate restaurant staff performance contributions.
8. Assist in disciplining staff and handle customer complaints or concerns.
9. Supervise and ensure that the outlet operates in an efficient manner. Responsible for overall floor supervision when management is not present.
10. Able to work effectively and harmoniously with all food service employees.
11. Knowledge of inter-departmental relationships. Knowing what procedures to follow as it relates to good coordination.
Communicates with Restaurant Manager:
A. Violations of company policy,
B. Liaison between employee and management, when necessary,
C. Any questions or concerns.
D. Inventory and equipment needs.
Secondary Responsibilities
Possess excellent people skills, strong organizational and leadership abilities and work and troubleshoot in multiple areas of the restaurant.
Act as a bridge between hourly staff and management. Communicate the roles, responsibilities and expectations of a job to employees and also pass along suggestions from staff about how to improve efficiency and guest service. As such, working as a restaurant supervisor requires strong communication skills.
Supervisors often act as the first point of contact when an employee has a problem. Supervisors relay concerns as needed to management and discipline or retrain employees who may not be performing to expectation. Supervisors may also conduct periodic performance reviews of staff and make recommendations for hiring scheduling and promotion.
Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and training staff on the proper use.
Collaborate with management to develop new procedures to continuously improve department performance.
. Know how to run the door (Host/Cashier) and assign stations.
. Good knowledge of automated computer/cash register.
. Be familiar with and able to perform every hourly position in the outlet.
. Provide clean and safe environment by assigning and assisting with cleaning.
. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be required.
. Support and abide by the hotel safety program for guests and employees.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
