Job Description
Due to the forthcoming departure of the current post-holder, Special Steel Sections Limited is seeking to recruit a Production Engineering Manager to head up the running of its bespoke, hot rolled special steel section manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The business is 43 years old and successfully sells its products all over the world with a very strong customer base in the US.
The successful candidate will work alongside its Commercial Manager and report directly to the company shareowners. The position requires the successful applicant to take control of the day-to-day production and works function with full site/autonomous responsibility.

These duties are shown as examples and there is a strong need for a flexible approach to the role.
The company operates on a single daytime shift, with 20 mill operatives.
The preferred candidate should be educated to a minimum HNC engineering level and ideally have a very good knowledge of the hot re-rolling industry. They should be self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and be prepared to take a very hands-on approach to the role.
Salary Range £55,000-£60,000 depending on experiences. (Bonuses also awarded to reflect profitability).
There is also scope, to quickly progress to the position of General Manager for the business.
