Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust are currently looking for a Driver to join their friendly team.
The Transport Department is expected to:
- make scheduled collections and deliveries of clinical notes, post, pharmacy, clinical specimens and consumables to/from PHT sites, GP surgeries/health centres across the region;
- cover ad hoc collections and deliveries as and when necessary; and
- provide a minibus shuttle service to the off site Park and Ride facility.
Job Duties:
- Carry out tasks, deliveries and collections as per schedules, or as directed by the Transport Manager or Responsible Person, on Trust vehicles, and liaise with all colleagues to ensure an efficient service is provided.
- Drivers will be expected to be multi-skilled, to carry out multiple deliveries and collections for all Transport schedules and drive the staff minibuses, as necessary for the benefit of the Trust.
- Must report all accidents, and any damage however minor, and complete accident report forms.
- Be responsible for signing out/in vehicle keys and fuel cards to vehicle being used.
- Be physically fit and able to assist in the movement of equipment.
- To transport clinical notes, post, pharmacy, clinical specimens and consumables in a safe and correct manner as and when required.
- Be prepared to turn out, when available for driving duties, in the event of a Major Incident, or Major Incident exercise.
Essential Requirements:
- Good standard of education
- Clean, valid driving licence and driving experience
- Licence must include full entitlement categories C1 (HGV 3 up to 7.5 tonnes) and D1 (minibuses, up to 16 passenger seats)
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
