Job summary
We are looking for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our small, hard working and friendly team to work 20 hours per week, over 4 days.
This role would be to work alongside our two Practice Nurses and HCA is available to the right candidate immediately.
The ideal candidate will have experience of phlebotomy and wound care as a minimum requirement.

Catterick Village Health Centre is a friendly and supportive GP Practice in Catterick Village. We are looking to recruit an HCA, ideally with experience of working in a Practice environment, and dedicated to providing a welcoming, courteous, friendly and professional service to our patients, staff and visitors.
We Dual Site Practice with a branch Surgery in Colburn. This role will be working across both Sites.
Our team includes GPs, Registrars, Nurses and HCAs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Practitioners and First Contact Physiotherapist. You will also be supported by our excellent reception and admin team. We encourage daily morning coffee breaks to allow for catch ups.
Main duties of the job
Duties to include but not exhaustive:
Phlebotomy
Urinalysis
Blood pressure and weight care management
ECG Recording
Vaccinations (under PSD)
Dressings and wound care management
Suture and clip removal
Specimen collection
Diabetic Health Checks
New Patient Health Checks & NHS Health Checks
Assisting GP during minor operations/Coils etc
Chaperoning as required
Clinical Waste Management & ensuring Infection Control standards are met at all times
Cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Stock management and restocking rooms
Person Specification
Qualifications
Desirable
Experience of working in a GP practice
Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
Qualified in Phlebotomy
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Candidates must be flexible, and able to work overtime to cover holiday and illness periods as and when required .
