Kitchen Assistant | Weymouth | Contracted 25 hours with additional hours available | £7.00 - £11.00 per hour + share of excellent weekly tips
The Crab House Cafe is a longstanding, award-winning, single AA rosette seafood restaurant and oyster farm in Weymouth, Dorset overlooking Chesil Beach. We are family run, with a strong family ethos in our business.
We change our menu twice daily, specialising in seafood, crabs to crack, and our oysters are farmed metres from our tables. We believe in sustainability, encouraging diners to try underutilised fish often and promoting using the most sustainable fishing methods throughout our menu. We forage along the coastline and grow various produce in our kitchen garden.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced kitchen assistant o become a part of our expanding proactive business. You will be required to work a mixture of day and evening hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced and pressured environment. Our menu changes daily, with no two days being the same, so you must always be able to maintain the highest standards of work and work at a fast pace.
What the role will consist of:
- Preparation of ingredients for service
- Assisting the kitchen team during service
- Keeping the kitchen and wet room clean and tidy.
- Completing kitchen paperwork
- Stock management & rotation
- Preparing fish and shellfish for service
- Washing up & cleaning duties
