Job Description
Our extremely friendly multi-disciplinary team in Coastal West Sussex are currently looking for a full-time, substantive Band 7 Clinical Psychologist. We are very proud of our strong Clinical Psychology structure in West Sussex and you will be working alongside an 8a Psychologist and an Assistant Psychologist. We also provide Trainee Clinical Psychology and Undergraduate Psychology placements.

The Band 7 will join the other psychologists in providing assessment (including neurodevelopmental), formulation, individual and group interventions and consultation using a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, systemic and EMDR. The Band 7 will work closely with their team colleagues, the local 8a Clinical Psychologist and 8b Principal Psychologist and the Service Manager. You will receive high standards of supervision including secondary supervision packages in CBT, IPT, EMDR, DBT, ASD and group work.

To work as a member of the clinical service/ team within Coastal CAMHS. Providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the Coastal CAMHS team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance. To utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology [or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or outside the UK], including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as approved by the HCPC
Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC)
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
Experience of specialist psychological working (assessment, formulation and treatment) with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, inpatient and residential care settings, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of applied psychology.
Experience of offering teaching, training and/or supervision.
Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care
Experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group.
Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).
High level of knowledge and skills in neuropsychology and evidence of further
