Adopt South is a regional adoption agency that launched in April 2019. The agency is a partnership between Hampshire County Council, Isle of Wight Council, Portsmouth City Council and Southampton City Council. Adopt South’s adoption service support all aspects of families impacted by adoption. Adopt South fulfils all aspects of it’s statutory duties as a regional adoption agency.
We are looking for a Children & Families Support Worker to join our team with a focus on supporting Early Permanence placements. The Early Permanence support worker role is a key post in an innovative two-year early permanence project in partnership with PACT with the core aims to:
- Develop specialist support for early permanent carers/prospective adopters;
- Develop support for parents;
- Develop training and education for professionals, carers and families;
- Encourage care planning teams and professionals to consider early permanence as an option.
This is a varied role including providing support to all stake holders in early permanence opportunities for children including prospective early permanence carers, children’s families and professionals as well facilitating training through a number of formats.
We are looking for someone with a knowledge of adoption acquired through a personal, professional or voluntary capacity, and experience of providing exemplary support.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively with service users and external agencies, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service and offer empathy and support to carers, families and adopters by relating to their experiences.
This role will provide the opportunity to make a real contribution to the lives of children, families and the national early permanence strategy.
