Assistant Gardner
Salary: £11.97 per hour plus Veolia benefits
Hours: On average 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Summer working hours Monday to Thursday 07.30 -16.15 and Friday 07.30 to 15.45 from April to October.
Winter working hours are Monday to Thursday 08.00-16.00 and Friday 08.00-15.30 from October to April.

What will you be doing?
- To assist in all skilled work relating to the horticultural maintenance of Park including open Spaces, education and housing Sites, their facilities and features, including: - Amenity areas, including bedding, shrubberies, rose beds, herbaceous borders, rockeries, water gardens and features.
- Arboriculture and pesticide management
- Maintaining various sports pitches ie football, cricket and bowling greens
- Using Plant and Machinery including power tools (Training given)
- Assisting in site preparation and construction, including hard and soft landscape works
- Assisting in implementation of community initiatives and community parks programmes and events
- To be first point of contact on behalf of the Parks Service to both contract clients and members of the public
What are we looking for?
- Driving licence advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience in Ground maintenance or similar is ideal.
- Current qualification in the safe use of pesticides, PA1 and PA6. - would be an advantage
- To be willing to undertake any training in relation to the job role
