The Analytical Chemistry Facility in the Sustainable Soils and Crops Department are recruiting for a part time post (16 hours per week) assistant laboratory technician to assist with sample preparation and extractions of soil and plant materials for analysis.
The Main duties will include:
- Weighing of sample materials
- Analytical grade washing of laboratory equipment
- Disposal of solutions, following documented extraction procedures.
The successful candidate is expected to assist other members of staff as required.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in working in science, have excellent team working and organisational skills, and strong attention to detail. We are looking for hours to be worked over 4 days, but can be flexible on working hours.
This is a 1 year fixed term post, with a salary from £20,048 per annum pro rata
