Would you like to gain valuable experience in a leading international aerospace company?
Do you see an internship as an essential asset to your degree and your future career?

Spirit AeroSystems is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business/regional jets. With expertise in aluminum and advanced composite manufacturing solutions, the company’s core products include fuselages, integrated wings and wing components, pylons, and nacelles. Also, Spirit serves the aftermarket for commercial and business/regional jets. Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit has facilities in the U.S., U.K., France, Malaysia and Morocco. More information is available at: www.spiritaero.com.

We are currently offering a number of 12 month Engineering internships for the period Summer 2023 to Summer 2024 to be based in our Belfast facility (salary £21,090 per annum)
Responsibilities:
These learning-orientated internships will focus on giving you real-world experiences and the opportunity to work on live projects within our Engineering function. You will have the chance to work with different teams, explore where your own skills and interests lie and consider where your focus might be in the future.

The calibre of our people is extremely important to us and, ideally, candidates should have a strong academic background coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should be self-disciplined, highly motivated and be able to work in a dynamic, challenging environment, where energy, enthusiasm, perseverance, and teamwork are fundamental.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must currently be studying for an honors degree in a directly relevant subject (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Electrical / Electronic Engineering) where the course content has been accredited by one of the major engineering institutions enabling applicants to pursue CEng status.

  • Preference will be given to those studying for an honors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Students will be expected to resume their studies after placement, which will last up to one year (min. 10 months).

Please note testing may form part of the selection process.

HOURS OF WORK: 36 hours per week

CLOSING DATE: Thursday 25th May 2023 at 4:00 PM

We employ people from all sections of the community and are committed to the appointment of the best candidates based on the merit principle alone. In pursuit of our equal opportunities programme, we would particularly welcome more applications from Catholics and females as these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce.
