Our Housing Needs department is at the heart of that mission. Dedicated to providing support and crisis intervention to vulnerable people with varying levels of support needs, they work to help people living in independent accommodation maintain their homes.

The Role:


As a Floating Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in this vital work. Collaborating alongside a variety of colleagues, you’ll be responsible for the effective operation of the Support Service. You’ll listen and respond to customer’s views, developing services that meet their needs and ensuring they retain safe, secure, high-quality housing.


You’ll provide support and guidance to customers with low, medium and high support needs at all stages of the tenancy process – increasing their independent living skills and offering training and education where possible. Responsible for a varied caseload, you’ll have an understanding of when to escalate issues, and when to step in and offer support to customers with wide ranging needs. You’ll participate in drop-ins, working with the utmost degree of sensitivity and spotlighting opportunities for additional support.

About You:


An established care professional, you’ll have experience of providing support to clients with varying needs. With a thorough and up to date knowledge of the health and safety issues related to vulnerable people living in independent accommodation, and a staunch commitment to safeguarding principles, you’ll be capable of working flexibly and to deadlines.


On a personal level, you’ll be a natural communicator with a can-do attitude. You’ll have excellent time management skills, and the ability to think on your feet. Most importantly, you’ll be a person passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable people living in independent accommodation. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide people with the support and guidance they need to live full, independent lives, and to join a vibrant, vital team of likeminded professionals.
