Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Process Operator Level 4
Full Time Permanent Contract
37 hours per week.
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
The jobholder will be responsible for the coaching and mentoring of all process operators ensuring they receive adequate training in application, quality, health and safety & all disciplines of the process.
They will be responsible for creating a training document detailing all of the required standards the operator needs to be achieving. The document must contain all of the tasks and information the operator needs to complete to be compliant with specification stipulated.
They are also responsible for collating documentation proving training has taken place and the operator fully understands. They are also responsible for maintain an accurate filing system where records can be kept as well as updating a skills matrix that will be presented to their line manager.
The jobholder will be responsible for participation in both internal and external audits as well as completing competency assessments of all process operators and will report directly to the supervisor on all of the fore mentioned points. They will also be responsible for delivering weekly briefs to their supervisor on progress and issues.

Essential Responsibilities
Identifying training needs of each area/ individual
Creating training documents that are user friendly and conform to the relevant specifications
Updating of skills matrix and training documents as and when requiring updates
Updating training files ensuring accurate records are kept
Liaising with supervisor, team leaders, quality and engineering
Participate in problem solving activities such as A3 & 8D and help to establish and implement RCCA
Responsible for assessing the condition of all PPE and tooling daily and report non-conformance using the SQDCP format along with accompanying documentation
Responsible for participating in all risk and COSHH assessments within the local working area
Coaching and mentoring of process operators at levels 1, 2 & 3 in all disciplines
The job holder will be responsible for completing a competency assessment of operators at Level 1, 2 & 3 and then present findings to supervisors
The job holder will be responsible for taking instruction off the supervisor but will also be required to use their own initiative
Position Requirements
Professional Accreditations:
Ideally NVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline
Experience:
3 years’ experience in a training environment
Key Competencies:
Pass internal numeric and literacy tests
Ability to present to an audience of people
Good standard of IT skills to include power point, excel and word
Other skills/Abilities
Good process knowledge
Good knowledge of health and safety and use of PPE to complete tasks
Good communication skills with the ability to get their message across to a wide spectrum of people
Natural leader
Willingness to learn and teach others best practice
Eye for detail and a willingness to get things right
Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work on their own or as part of a team
