The successful candidate will join BSW IAPT, based either in the BaNES, Swindon or the Wiltshire Service. BSW covers a large geographical area and offers timely and effective interventions for increasing numbers of the local population. The role of a High Intensity CBT therapist involves offering assessment and treatment to clients with common mental health difficulties.
IAPT is a high volume service. Therapists are supported through caseload management and clinical supervision to provide a high quality service. The successful applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good organisational ability.

To allocate approximately 70% of time to direct clinical work and supervision which should be predominantly CBT based.
To provide a community mental health service to patients who self refer or who are referred by a professional.
To assist with group psychological activity as discussed with the Service.
To gather together and organise information about opportunities and resources in the local area which may be of benefit to clients referred to the service (e.g. voluntary and community organisations, educational and recreational opportunities).
To participate in liaison meetings with GPs and other members of the Primary Care Health Team, as appropriate.
To supervise other staff of the primary care service.
To advise the head of the IAPT service about the development of the service.
To arrange in liaison with the head of service the frequency, type and setting for supervision.
To participate in the IAPT Service business and professional meetings including Departmental Meetings and the Primary Care Specialty meeting.
To maintain and further develop high standards of Clinical Practice through co-operative work with other therapists and involvement in professional audit.
To comply with the Behavioural and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy Code of Conduct as well as procedures and government legislation, as it applies to the service.
