Occupational summary:
An assembler operates woodworking technology to cut, shape, or surface lumbar and assemble parts for wood products. You may repair or alter parts, such as cabinets or paneling. Additional qualifications include strong mechanical skills and precision, attention to detail, and experience with cabinetry machines such as power saws and jointers. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Work closely with the project lead to achieve production goals and develop strategies to remain within the materials and labor costs quoted for the job. Operates a safe work environment and keep area neat and orderly, with materials and tools organized for efficient space utilization. Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Your day-to-day:
- Constructs cabinets and drawer boxes of wood, plywood, laminate and aluminum using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
- Reads specifications in blueprints, sketches, or drawings to prepare project layout and determines dimensions and materials required.
- Assembles and builds cabinets and, fastens materials to make frameworks using wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
- Assembles and builds crates for shipping checking that material going in crates Is jigged and secure.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations, and maintains a safe and clean environment.
- Ensure that all projects completed in the fabrication department meet quality standards.
- Verify dimensions and check the quality and fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Ensure that projects are completed within time restraints.
- Ensure That All Projects Leaving the fabrication department are complete, clean, and quality controlled.
- Is able to solve problems independently of supervisor.
What you bring to the team:
- Understanding of Lean Production is a plus.
- Strives for constant growth and improvement in
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Professional or mechanical operation experience in the kitchen cabinet manufacturing environment is a plus
- Speak mandarin is a plus
Physical Qualifications:
- Requires prolonged standing, climbing, bending and kneeling as necessary.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
