The College of Business, Technology and Engineering is recruiting for a Head of Teaching and Learning Enhancement, to provide operational academic leadership and management of learning, teaching and assessment, the student academic experience and the enhancement of academic quality and standards within the college, in a way that supports and enables our ambition to be the world's leading applied university.
Supporting the Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning, and working closely with Heads of Department, Deputy Heads of Department and with departmental leads and course/ module teams, you will promote innovation in teaching, learning and assessment and academic quality, as well as ensuring that student voice activities are delivered effectively, and students have the conditions to thrive.
You will also join the College Leadership Team, responsible for delivering success and ensuring the wellbeing and development of staff and students right across the college.
This is a key leadership role within the college. As well as an academic profile relevant to the college, you will be able to evidence a leadership contribution to the quality and development of teaching and learning, at departmental level or higher.
You will be an effective leader with skills and experiences to include:
- Excellent people management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make logical, well-balanced and reasoned decisions.
- Evidence of effective leadership behaviours and judgement.
- Evidence of working in partnership internally and externally and of collaborative working right across an institution.
You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the Higher Education environment in the context of teaching and learning, relevant to the college.
