Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS UK) are currently seeking a Healthcare Consultant to join our friendly, hard-working Healthcare team based in our Stevenage offices.


You’ll be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support to a portfolio of health and protection clients, always staying one step ahead of their needs, and delivering a high-quality service.


What you'll be doing


  • Help with the servicing and renewal of nominated clients by supporting the primary consultants. This includes responding to queries every day and obtaining market quotations as needed.
  • ‘Troubleshoot’ and handle problems for client queries in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Generate high-quality renewal and new business reports to share with colleagues. Work diligently with the consultant to ensure the best service at all times.
  • Develop professional, sustainable, and robust relationships with all clients within your area of responsibility.
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with insurers and other relevant providers to ensure that clients’ best interests are represented constantly.
  • Grow your own personal knowledge and skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), we actively encourage it!
  • Work with healthcare consultants to maintain an effective suite of management information, paying attention to the finer details.
  • Maintain a central filing system for all relevant documentation and templates.

What we're looking for


  • First-class administrative experience, with a sense of urgency, an eye for detail, and a passion for customer service excellence;
  • Strong customer-facing experience; presentable with a personable manner, confident when liaising with others is critical;
  • Outstanding communication skills, an ambitious attitude and the ability to prioritise own workload and complete tasks without supervision;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience within the health insurance industry (or similar) would be advantageous, as would a working knowledge of Acturis, however, neither is crucial - we can teach!
