Position: Accounting Assistant – based in Welwyn Garden City, Herts.

We are an UK Paper Agent for an international pulp and paper producer with manufacturing bases in China and Indonesia.

Job Summary:
To assist the Accounting Manager to deliver accurate accounts to the management to strict reporting deadlines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all supplier invoices are verified.
- Enter invoices on the accounting system applying the correct accounting codes
- Obtain the necessary authority for expenditure.
- Handle employees expenses
- Raise sales invoices
- Prepare & enter bank payments/receipts
- Reconciliation of bank and suppliers accounts
- Analyzing costs in the General Ledger
- Assisting with budgets
- Filing and archiving
- Adhering to and implementing the company’s Standard Operating Procedures
- Other accounting or administration functions as required.
- Person Specification:
- Previous accounting experience using computerized accounting software is essential. Accounting qualifications appreciated. Experience of SAP Accounting Software would be desirable but is not essential as training can be given.
- Must be well organized and show keen attention to detail
- Good Microsoft Office skills are required. In particular good working experience of Excel is essential.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
