The Group designs and manufactures high technology components and systems for the principal original equipment manufacturers in the worldwide aerospace & defence, land-vehicle and power & energy markets.
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the role is to analyse and interpret Senior’s end markets, market sectors, customers and competitors and provide information to our Operating Businesses, Divisional Leadership and the Executive Committee. Analysing market sector trends, having customer insight and providing competitor intelligence are key to forming the Group’s strategy and informing our shareholders. Furthermore, the Strategy and Investor Relations Analyst will assist in the execution and delivery of the Senior plc Investor Relations programme in collaboration with our investor relations and corporate communications teams.
The role will report to the Director of Business Development & Strategy and will also be accountable to the Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications for aspects of the role relating to that function.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain industry knowledge and understanding of the Group’s key market sectors, principally the aerospace, defence, land-vehicle and power & energy markets.
- Collect, analyse and interpret information and data on the market dynamics, key growth drivers and future outlook, as well as the customer and competitive landscape.
- Continuously monitor digital media and other sources of information and market intelligence to provide a summary report of relevant information.
- Prepare monthly Market Update reports for the Executive Committee, providing relevant and reliable updates on the key market sectors and share price performance, and an annual strategic market update presentation to support the Group annual Strategy Review.
- Provide quarterly Key Customer update reports, providing information on key customer developments in our end markets.
- Assist Investor Relations to maintain consensus, forecasts and recommendations by analysing broker notes/models.
- Assist with the preparation of the Group’s investor and corporate communications, including investor presentations, the annual and interim reports and trading updates.
- Provide assistance in relation to external communications/engagement activity such as full/half year analyst presentation, capital markets days, investor site visits, and other external company events as appropriate.
- Work closely with our website supporter to manage and update sections of the company website as appropriate.
- Provide assistance to Operating Businesses and Divisions on market and customer research requirements.
- Provide assistance in relation to corporate level activity such as acquisitions, disposals and other special projects.
Key Attributes:
- University degree or equivalent relevant qualification. Relevant subjects include Journalism, Business and Economics.
- Experience of working in a Market Research/Investor Analyst role in a relevant sector (aerospace, automotive, land-vehicle) is preferred. Experience of working as an analyst within journalism/media and/or within the financial investment industry could also be an advantage in this role.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work with web based applications.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid level of business acumen with the ability to gather, analyse, challenge and interpret data.
- Ability to articulate and present key findings for Senior leaders.
- Ability to work in detail whilst also being able to see the bigger picture.
- A professional and diplomatic approach.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Previous experience of aerospace and land-vehicle markets would be an advantage.
Location:
The role will be based at the Group head-office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, on the outskirts of London. However, due to the international spread of the Group’s operations the role may require some international travel.
