Sous Chef with Pastry experience
Over the past 10 years we have built a good reputation for serving locally sourced fresh food to create traditional style tearooms dishes including breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. With a steady weekday business trade and busy event and function business at the weekends the tearooms is looking for an experienced chef to lead this department of the kitchen team.
An attention to detail and an ability to set high standards day in and day out are essential qualities we are looking for in any successful candidate in order for them to lead by example. They should also have the confidence and experience to be able to train and progress the other chefs within the tearooms so that workload and responsibilities are shared. General day to day duties will involve organising, preparation, cooking and serving of food in a busy tearooms. Central to the Tearooms success is its classic afternoon tea and so an strong emphasis of pastry skills is required by the successful candidate. In addition we are looking someone who can in time develop the menu with the passion and ideas to give this quirky and traditional tearooms some added spice.
The successful candidates should have a very good understanding of food safety, kitchen cleanliness and a willingness to learn and coach other members of the team is essential.
This is a full-time position approximately 45 hours a week. Weekly shift pattern is generally 8am-5pm depending on rota and general duties.
English language skills essential and current food hygenie certificate helpful, although training will be provided.

Salary: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
