Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team performing diagnostic investigations on our patient community, bringing services closer to where patients live.

Diagnostic hubs are being set up around the region as part of the UHDB family. The post will involve, once qualified as an assistant physiologist, performing a range of standard diagnostic clinical measurement investigations from various departmental sections.

The services will be delivered out of the Royal Derby Hospital and will include working on the main site of RDH as well as covering clinics at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and Ilkeston Community Hospital. Rotation to our sister site at Queens Hospital Burton will also be required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team within the Clinical Measurement Department at the Royal Derby Hospital as a Trainee Assistant Physiologist.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well motivated individual to join our busy team performing a variety of Cardiology and Respiratory diagnostic tests on patients.

You will primarily be involved in recording Electrocardiographs (ECG’s) on a variety of inpatients and outpatients of all ages. As competency progresses the post holder will develop further skills to enable them to perform and assist with other tests carried out within the department.

You must have GCSE's in English, Maths and one Science subject, grade C or above/grades 4-9 or equivalent. Previous experience of working with the general public is essential.

Applicants who are shortlisted are strongly advised to arrange a visit to look around the department.
