Job Description

The Professional and Technical Development Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the Technical Training program and Personal Development program for Clinical Engineering; directorship, leadership and development of the Clinical Engineering apprenticeship program and the development of facilities to deliver expert training and opportunities to generate departmental income. In addition, the post holder will support workstreams for the Trust Equipment Group (TEG) and management of the medical devices capital equipment replacement program.

The post holder will be required to provide day to day management of the recently implemented in house Technical Training Needs Analysis program (Tech TNA) working together with all individuals in Clinical Engineering to manage personal and professional development, training programs, improvement plans and competency assessments. The post holder will also be required to manage recruit and select for Clinical Engineering apprenticeship and trainee posts and lead on Departmental initiatives to expand these training schemes. They will provide mentorship and leadership with all aspects of apprenticeship and trainee oversight including the development/coordination of relevant training programs. In addition, responsibilities will include input in to the 5 year medical device capital replacement program, Trust equipment group and all associated workstreams.
