Junior Software Developer
Salary: From £30,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

About the role:
This role sits within Jisc’s SDG (Software Development Group). SDG is a group where all the developers in Jisc now work.

As a software developer you will work closely with the different product families in Jisc to create products that meet their vision and the users’ requirements.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React or similar
  • A willingness and passion for learning new technology as required
  • Proactive and highly organised
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • An ability to explore technology solutions across the technology stack
  • Knowledge of WCAG and accessibility, and any experience with AWS, Docker and TDD would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities/achievement objectives:
  • Take ownership for simple ticket work
  • Work with product owners and on new features and workshops
  • Be responsible for implementing automated testing of tickets
  • Accessibility; ensuring features are accessible
