We are looking for Support Workers to join our friendly and welcoming team here at Hft Sheffield. We have full time and part time hours available, this is your chance to make a real difference to people's lives.

We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts, including waking nights, weekends and bank holidays.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for people to support two individuals with profound learning disabilities within their own home and out in the community. Within this service you'll be required to support with Moving & Handling , including use of a Hoist, as well as intimate personal care. Experience of supporting with (PEG) Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy, is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. The individuals live independent, who need dedicated and caring support workers to assist them with every aspect of day to day life, including; paying bills/finances, laundry, medication, shopping, meal preparation, planning of days out and corresponding with family members and health professionals on a regular basis.

They both have busy social lives and need people who will be confident to advocate for them and to support them out and about in the community, going to the gym, hydrotherapy swimming sessions, going to the cinema, cafes, seeing friends and family, attending weekly groups at day centres and attending medical appointments when needed.

The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities.

This can range from supporting them to discover new interests, reaching goals like travelling or holidays and working positively with their families and friends. This will help individuals to engage in different leisure, home or work-related activities, all according to their personal choice.

As a support worker, your responsibilities are varied and no two days are the same.

As well as providing physical and emotional support you may be needed to help with household tasks and personal care as well as supporting individuals with healthcare needs, e.g. taking medication.
