At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Project Manager to contribute to the development of the next generation stealth aircraft as part of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). The role will deliver the UK elements of the Tempest Future Combat Air System (FCAS) Integrated Communication System.
This is an exciting opportunity and you will join a talented and supportive Integrated Project Team (IPT) in a dynamic growing business area. Working within the Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, we will be utilising and enhancing the word-class facilities and teams we have across multiple locations, and centred on our site in Southampton.

As Project Manager you will:
-
Support the Senior Project Manager in the successful execution and delivery of the project to achieve its success criteria/objectives
-
This is achieved through effective planning and management of team performance, project schedule, cost and adherence to the quality parameters laid down as well as proactively seeking opportunities for increased workshare through partnerships and collaboration.
- Coordinate the activities of the IPT by establishing appropriate communication mechanisms encompassing both meetings and reporting requirements

Maintain the tailored Lifecycle Management Framework (project plan, WBS, OBS and cost/control accounts) that governs the operation of the IPT across projects.

Conduct effective Risk and Opportunities Management

Establish, develop and maintain relationships with Customers and Suppliers throughout the entire lifecycle of the Project

Support bid preparation and management in line with Leonardo policies and standard

Establish and maintain effective Work Package control, including monitoring of KPIs, dependencies and critical path etc.

This programme is being delivered via the Agile methodology and part of your role will be to continue to embed agile transformation and SAFe practices whilst executing the programme.

Project management experience in all phases of the project execution lifecycle, including Business Winning Phases, across several projects or programmes of medium complexity, involving both engineering and manufacturing

Experience of delivering technical electronic and software products
- Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain customer/supplier relations
-
Experience or awareness of related functions such as Commercial, Procurement, Quality Assurance
-
Experience in all aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management and cost control
-
Knowledge of Primavera and/or MS Project and Agile Tools & Techniques
-
Ability to influence, inspire and motivate project teams.
Typically, Qualifications include:
-
Degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline.

Typically meets the requirements for registration as a full member of the Association for Project Managers (APM)

Certified SAFe Agilist (desirable)
