An exciting opportunity for an Events & Arts Assistant to join the Communities Team; to be part of the continual development of events across the Council.
We are looking for a forward thinking and creative minded person with a passion for events to assist and report to the Events, Arts and Marketing Officer. You will support with the organisation, administration and delivery of key events which form our busy annual calendar, such as the Festival of Leisure, Christmas Lights Switch On and civic events.
You will be self-motivated and be able to generate, manage and prioritise from your own workload. You will have the ability to multitask several events at a time at various stages of their preparation and delivery.
Maintaining and building new relationships with colleagues, partners, community groups, businesses and many more is key to our events. You will, therefore, ideally have experience of community engagement. Excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills is required to keep everyone involved and up to date to deliver successful and meaningful events.
You should either be qualified in event management or have relevant knowledge in the development, project management and support of events. Experience in marketing events, including the design and production of promotional materials is also required.
Working patterns are generally 9am – 5pm, however due to the nature of event delivery, you will also support and run events which will require evening and weekend working. The Flexible Hours Working Scheme applies to this post. Access to a car is required.
