Joiner Maintenance Craftsperson Apprentice

Job Description

• Various exciting and challenging positions have arisen for level 3 Apprenticeships in Carpenter / Joiner around the North East and Yorkshire (Potential employers could be; Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS FT; NTW Solutions – Gosforth).

• Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to the trade with supervision.
• Set out new work appropriate to the trade using relevant instruments and machinery, with supervision.
• Participate in the training of the Estates Department personnel, as required.
• Undertake a wide range of work involving other crafts.
• Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new work as required.
• Use all relevant tools and equipment necessary for the safe and efficient performance of delegated tasks and be trained in the use of woodworking machinery.
• Ensuring that the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy and local workplace rules are adhered to at all times when undertaking the duties of the post.
• Undertake such training as required to learn new techniques and update acquired knowledge.
• Appreciate and understand fully the inter-relationship between the various maintenance crafts.
• Undertake such other duties appropriate to the grade of the post and ability of the postholder as determined by the maintenance chargehand.
