CLCH Hertfordshire Adult Community Services -CLCH NHS Trust provides a range of Community Services, and the Hertfordshire Division is recruiting!
West Hertfordshire community respiratory service provided by CLCH is looking for a health care assistant. The post holder will assist and assess patients in the Home Oxygen and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea services. They will answer telephone patient queries and perform home visits as needed.
They will also provide support to out-patient clinics in a variety of sites across the service. They will provide a high quality, efficient and comprehensive out-patientservice to our Respiratory Consultants and multi-disciplinary team.
It is essential that the post holder has experience of working with people, and can carry out duties in a timely manner.
The position will require an excellent communication manner, empathetic and able to assist with patients who are predominantly breathless.
They will also be highly organised, and assist in the preparation of clinical notes for out-patient clinics. Working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

- The post holder will provide comprehensive and high quality support to the Clinical staff working in the Home Oxygen Service and Review service (HOSAR), and the Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) Service.
- The post holder will also need to support respiratory Consultant / Nurse and Physio out-patient clinics as needed.
- The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring clinical notes, relevant documents and equipment are prepared for each clinic
- The post holder will be able to perform clinical support in clinic in the form of taking patients observations, spirometry, checking inhaler techniques and any other relevant clinical task
- The post holder will answer the patient calls into the service, regarding their home oxygen and OSA needs, and signpost onto the most appropriate person for ongoing management.
- To see patients in clinic or at home (for housebound patients), to perform equipment compliance and safety assessments, or simple CPAP mask refits
