Job Description

Why join us:

Blue Ribbon Health & Wellbeing is an innovative, pro-active and person-centred care provider of specialist support services for individuals with Learning Disabilities & Autism, who may exhibit behaviour which can be deemed as challenging. We offer both Residential and Supported Living services to the individuals we support, with services throughout the Northwest, but with serious ambitions of growth over the next year.

Our core values are:

Everyone Matters – We should always treat colleagues and individuals as we ourselves want to be treated, with respect no matter what

Honesty – We are sincere, fair and genuine

Integrity – We take time to listen, understand and operate with the highest levels of honesty, responsibility and trust

Passionate – We encourage and embrace new ideas whilst consistently developing our expertise

Positivity – We strive to improve our services, ourselves and most importantly want to make a difference

We currently have vacancies for Support Workers at our supported living site in Blackburn with Darwen to enable the individuals we support to access a full range of chosen activities.

Support Workers will be involved in transitioning the people we support into their new home which will involve building trust and familiarity for the people we support to ensure their transition goes as smoothly as possible. Staff will then be given the required induction, training and support to provide high quality support which shall enable the people we support to be safe, happy and flourish in their new environment.

Applicants must be positive, possess a can-do attitude and have a genuine passion for providing effective support by utilising consistent approaches, working as a team and helping those we support to work towards positive outcomes whilst living a life which is full of colour.

To succeed in this role, you will need to get to know the individuals we support and contribute to the development of their person-centred plan, always seeking to meet the needs and wants of the individual. You will also need to complete all documentation as required (including updating plans and notes), along with maintaining a friendly and professional approach even when managing complex and/or challenging behaviours demonstrated by the individual.

Previous experience of support work would be advantageous but applicants new to the sector will be considered as full training will be provided. If you share our core values, want a rewarding career then why not chose a role where you can have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Please note that to work as a Support Worker for Blue Ribbon Health and Wellbeing, you must be at least 18 years old.

Apply now and one of our team will be in touch to discuss how you can begin your rewarding career with Blue Ribbon Health & Wellbeing.
