JOB DESRIPTION
JOB TITLE: GROUNDSPERSON
SECTION: OPERATIONS & FACILITIES
SALARY/ SCALE: TO BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW
ACCOUNTABLE/REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER/CEO
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the facility, the grounds and all equipment and machinery are cleaned and maintained to the highest possible standard, allowing the football club to function efficiently and effectively, and to provide a welcoming environment to its staff, supporters and wider community.
KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
Maintenance and repairs
- Basic repairs to equipment and the general facility
- Maintenance of the seating deck and communal areas
- Repair and replacement of seating and other fittings within the stand
- Cleaning and brushing of seating deck, stairwells and communal areas
Grounds
- Opening and closing of the facility
- Litter picking and waste disposal
- Prepare the grounds for adverse weather where required
- Ensure all grounds within the facility are regularly maintained to the highest standards
- Ensure the facility meets all health and safety requirements for public use
- Keep paths, roads and walkways safe and clear of obstruction
Pitch maintenance and bookings
- Duties associated with the pitch maintenance schedule
- When required clear the pitch of frost/light coverings of snow
- Support the maintenance of the goals, nets and corner flags
- Support the maintenance of the tractor, pitch machinery and all other maintenance equipment
- Duties associated with pitch and facility hires including set-up, floodlight control and taking payments when required
- Set up for functions and events, internal and external
Cleaning
- Cleaning duties in FFC Offices, toilets and other communal areas
- Waste disposal
- Re-stocking of toilets
- Cleaning of debris after a game including stands and pitch side
Fixtures and fittings
- Maintenance and reporting of faults
- Maintenance and replacement of lamps and light fittings
- General repairs within the main stand and throughout the facility
- Put up, replace and take down all advertising boards
- Painting
DEMANDS
Working in all weathers in an outdoor and indoor setting. Flexible working to meet the demands of the facility including evening and weekend and shift working, to cover the needs of match day and other operations.
COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS
Assistant Groundsperson, Operations Manager, CEO, Board of Directors, players, managers and coaches, members of the public.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The role is mainly undertaken within the confines of the Falkirk Stadium.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £19,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
