The Role
Our Management Accountant will assist in the daily running of a busy finance department. This individual will ensure the provision of a high-quality financial and management accounting service that supports the effectiveness and efficiency of the business, within statutory and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Triaging incoming emails to the central finance inbox
- Processing purchase orders and invoices – obtaining approvals where necessary
- Preparing supplier payments for approval and sending remittances
- Processing monthly employee expense claims (using SAP Concur) and reconciling statements to post to the ledger
- Processing payroll
- Preparing and sending customer invoices and statements in a timely manner
- Ensuring timely credit control procedures are used to limit the risk of bad debt
- Processing the bank reconciliation, creating journals/ entries for activity as required
- Assisting with the completion of month-end reconciliations as part of month-end procedures
- Assisting with the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Assisting with preparing and creating MI reports in a timely manner ahead of Monthly Management Meetings
- Creating VAT journals, checking activity and assisting with the submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting in the preparation of year-end audit pack for auditors and providing auditors with any information requested
- Overseeing tax payments and conducting internal audits
- Supporting accurate and timely processing of financial transactions
Skills and Attributes Required
- Part Qualified Accountant with 2-4 years’ work experience
- Studying towards ACCA or CIMA
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Has an aptitude for using systems and automation processes to produce timely and accurate management information
- Good understanding of Business Central & Sage
- Understanding of Microsoft Power BI (preferred, not essential)
- Desire to remain abreast of the latest financial practices and regulations
- A solid grasp of mathematics and financial data
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
