Job purpose
If ABCA sounds like the right place for you, we would love you to join our team within the Service Department. You will be working across both social housing and commercial contracts carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on Fire and Emergency lighting systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- To include but not limited to the following:
- Maintenance and commissioning of Conventional and Addressable Fire Detection Systems.
- Installation and Maintenance of Security System including Intruder, Access Control and CCTV Systems.
- Installation and Maintenance of Emergency Lighting Systems.
- Fault finding and repairs of both Fire and Security Systems.
- Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers.
- Control of all stock and equipment required to complete the necessary works including van stock.
- Commission of Fire and Security Systems upon completion.
- Prepare daily reports/work sheets and job sheets via the company operating system.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours, out of hours working will be required at times as will working away from home from time to time.
- Be part of the ‘on call’ out of hours rota.
- Completion of site asset registers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Intruder experience with fault finding and maintenance in line with PD6662 and NSI codes of practice on Galaxy/Menvier/Texacom systems.
- Fire alarm experience maintaining and fault finding on Morley/Kentec/Advanced/with Hyfire and Cooper an advantage.
- A good understanding of BS5839 is essential and FIA 1 & 5 qualified is an advantage.
- 5 years’ experience in the industry required.
- Full UK Driving Licence

Other Information
We are offering this permanent role, based in the Leyton region.
The rate of pay we are offering £13 - £15 depending on experience, based on a 40-hour working week.
We will also provide you with a company van and mobile phone.
