BBC Children in Need believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to thrive and be the best they can be.

This is an exciting time to join us as we set out to deliver our new five year ambition and strategy for children and young people.

The charity currently funds around 2,000 local charities and projects across the UK working with children and young people facing disadvantage across the UK. We are looking for a Celebrity Liaison Officer to join our team who has experience and knowledge of celebrity relations (ideally within a charity environment) and contacts within the entertainment industry.

Main Responsibilities

As a Celebrity Liaison Officer, you will

  • Identify, recruit and manage celebrities and high profile individuals to support BBC Children in Need
  • Engage a variety of talent in a series of awareness-raising initiatives and fundraising activities that will raise the profile of the charity on a year round basis, as well as its annual Appeal
  • Cultivate key individuals as ‘spokespeople’ on behalf of the charity on key issues, and utilise their popularity to secure additional promotional opportunities for BBC Children in Need
  • Build, develop and sustain relationships with a wide range of talent and their management teams
  • Generally provide administrative support for the Celebrity Liaison function
Are you the right candidate?

We are looking for someone with these skills and experience

  • Experience of working with talent, ideally in a charity celebrity liaison team, artist management, or a consumer/celebrity PR environment
  • Experience of working with celebrity-led corporate partnerships or brand endorsements
  • Excellent understanding of the celebrity environment and up to date on news and changes within the industry
  • A solid understanding of the media environment in order to drive PR for strategic initiatives/campaigns
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships
  • Strong influencing, negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to give clear direction and briefings
