Paid Graduate Internships – Summer 2023 (up to 8 placements)
13 Weeks (including 1 week annual leave) from June to September 2023
Rate of Pay - £403.30 per week
Are you just about to graduate having completed your final year at university?
Our summer internships offer you the opportunity to gain practical experience of working within Local Government. It is a great opportunity to build your skills and knowledge within the Council and consider if this career pathway is the one for you.
As well as giving you a taste of working life, you will also have the chance to:

We have placements to offer across most of our key service teams in the following Directorates:
Customer, Business and Corporate Support
Community and Place Delivery
Strategy, Policy and Transformation
There may be opportunities for extended placements or work beyond the initial 13 week placement as well as other career opportunities within the Council.
We will give you full support and guidance to develop your employability skills and gain confidence in taking on new tasks. However, as you progress and become familiar with the Council in your role, we will give you more responsibility and independence.
There is no job description for this role since each placement will be different.
We are seeking motivated individuals who wish to explore and develop their career in the public sector. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate they meet the criteria below:
be in their final year of studies or have recently completed a degree (e.g. BSc/BA Hons) - relevant subject areas include Economics, Finance, Spatial and Town Planning, Humanities, Digital and Social Media, Social Sciences, Law, Business Management and Project Management.-
proficient in digital skills including web-based platforms (e.g., Microsoft Officer 365)

have good interpersonal and communication skills

have basic customer service or administrative work experience

be able to work effectively in a hybrid way (both in the office, on site and at home)
