Job Description
At Alternative Heating Solutions we offer our customers a variety of energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy installations. These include external wall insulation systems, loft and floor insulation, and also solar PV, solar thermal, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, and infrared heating installations. We are currently hiring installers to perform installations in Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, East London, and surrounding areas. We are looking for installers at all levels of experience for all aspects of our installations. Full training will be provided for the right candidates, ideally located in the Colchester area. We offer variety of work, throughout renewable energy installatoins and energy efficiency measures. You will learn what we do to improve energy efficiency at our customer's homes and reduce their energy bills and CO2 footprint. We work with many new technologies and pride ourselves on providing modern solutions to poorly insulated, cold and droughty homes.
As an installer, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with variety of installations throughout the energy efficiency and renewable systems
- Working from heights
- Working outdoors
- Some heavy lifting required
- Providing an excellent level of customer service
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Experience with general building trades: roofing, carpentry, plastering, but also basic plumbing and electrical. No specific qualifications required.
- Experience working at heights (desired)
- Roofing and install experience (desired)
- Some flexibility to work out of hours and weekends and working away
- Full UK driving licence (essential)

- Salary: £120 - 180 per day depending on experience
- Full training in installatoin of variety of energy efficiency measures and renewable technologies
- Company transport: we are meeting at the yard in Colchester town centre and leave to sites in a company van

- Weekend availability (rarely)
Supplemental pay types:
Work Location: Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, East London and surrounding areas. From time to time, some work away may be required, and travel and accommodation are provided.
