Research Assistant: from £34,919 to £36,822 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £37,816 per annum inclusive of London Weighting.
Research Fellow: from £38,841 to £42,100 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £45,663 per annum inclusive of London Weighting.

The Additive Manufacturing and 4D Printing Research Group is looking to recruit a Research Fellow in Additive Manufacturing Design and Simulation. The post-holder is expected to contribute to activities including but not limited to having:
- Practical experience in the design, development and optimisation of computer aided design models using a variety of CAD software.
- Ability to generate suitable designs of geometric test pieces using parametric solid modelling, considering build failure and distortion compensation.
- Expertise and practical experience of advanced FEA, mechanical and thermal analysis, topological optimisation, generative design and Design for Manufacturing.
- Ability to perform Design of Experiments by simulation and Multiscale modelling.
- Understanding of certification, standardisation and regulatory aspects including liaison and communication, and identifying existing EU certification processes and procedures
The successful applicant is expected to have a high level of initiative and an ability to work both collaboratively and independently. The candidate is expected to be able to travel locally and nationally. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required and the ability to quickly adapt to a multinational environment is advantageous. The ideal candidate will need to be confident in the use of various CAD software packages (for example Solidworks, Fusion360, Ansys, etc.). Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing is desirable, but not essential as this can be learned. Please refer to the Post-description for the full post-profile.
