The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 9,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, firefighters and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. As such having data & Information that is secure, accessible and valid is critical in enabling the Army to meet is operational outcomes and Defence taskings D Info and the Info DA is crucial in making this a reality.
This post will be within the Army TLB, working in the Directorate of Information (D Info). This is an exciting opportunity to join the business management function and support the operation of the Information Design Authority (Info DA). We are looking for a motivated individual to join the business management function within the Info DA.

The Info DA is a new design authority that has been created as a result of the Army Operating Model and is the mechanism by which we will enable, assure and facilitate the British Army becoming a Digital war-fighting Force!

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
As a member of the Info DA Business Management function, you will be a key contributor to providing administrative, financial and contractual support across all Info DA functions. The successful incumbent will be integral to supporting the Info DA operating model bringing together multiple digital functions to work in a coherent manner enabling the assurance, enablement and governance of a Digital Army.
The position holder is key in supporting the operation and business management of the Info DA and the Chief Information Architect. Higher level responsibilities include supporting the Info DA financial management, management of contracts, Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F), Info DA, SharePoint and the Microsoft Teams Planner.
We are looking for a driven individual who has the ability, desire and potential to learn and develop into a digital business administrator. We are a large team which is continuing to grow, the ability to be well versed in communicating and working with others is essential, this will be internally within the Info DA and externally across the organisation to support the mission and intent of the Info DA.
Experience working with Microsoft office suite is essential. Experience in Microsoft teams is desirable as is Microsoft SharePoint. The incumbent should be motivated and able to prioritise tasks and be able to work as part of a large team spanning different levels and types of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be computer literate with the ability to pick up and learn new skills and undertake training courses for the purpose of delivering the tasks and develop on a professional level, a genuine desire to develop, learn and contribute to the team is essential and will be paired with a system and leadership structure that is genuinely an advocate in developing individuals and teams to deliver value to the British Army.

Professional qualifications which can be achieved through an apprenticeship range from Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSEs/ broadly equivalent to Scottish National 5s(N5s)), Level 3 (equivalent to 2 A Levels//broadly equivalent to Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher (H/AH)), and Levels 4 -7, which can give you a foundation degree, a full Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree. They normally last between 12 months - 3 years, depending on the level of the apprenticeship.
Anyone can undertake an Apprenticeship and everyone, regardless of age, can benefit from developing their skills in an accredited way.
