The Sport, Exercise and Health Division are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide administration support to the Sport, Exercise and Health Division. The successful candidate will have a varied role supporting the administration requirements for our marketing and communications team, events team, and commercial programmes.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the income generation for the division through the provision of an excellent experience for our customers and community. There is a particular focus on service excellence, alongside our strategic priorities (outlined below):
Sport, Exercise and Health strategic priorities:
- Increase student participation levels, driven by a focus on student health, wellbeing and student satisfaction. This will be achieved through an offer which is fair and equitable.
- Facilitate students gaining employability skills through sports leadership, volunteering, officiating, coaching, and administrative opportunities, and experiences.
- Develop an inspirational and inclusive student-led community, which allows sports clubs and talented athletes to reach their potential. This will be achieved in an environment which is built on pride, partnership, ambition, and trust.
- Contribute to the health and wellbeing of staff by providing access to healthy activities.
- Maximise commercial opportunities in a manner that creates significant opportunities for student development and/or provides an income that can be re-invested in the experience.
This role will be responsible for providing administrative support primarily to the marketing and communications team, events team and commercial programmes. With significant interactions with our customers, the role will support current users of our services and initial interactions with potential users from our University and the wider Bristol communities. This will include communicating through social media and other platforms (e.g. Strava, Facebook groups, Instagram). They will require independence and initiative, working under minimum supervision to enable the effective delivery of our programmes and services.
The post holder will work with staff throughout the division working on several key programmes, specifically:
- Event and campaign administration and support, welcome programme, mass participation, and award events
- Bristol Moves+, commercial (income generating) programmes
- Internal and external programme, campaign and event promotion and communication
This role will provide group support to the weekly marketing and communications group.
- Experience of working in a busy sport, leisure, Higher Education environment and/or a healthcare or other clinic environment
- Effective and professional communication skills, with a good level of written and verbal skills and a pleasant courteous manner and experience of communicating with a wide range of customers/clients
- Experience of database administration, user support, and monitoring
- Experience of record-keeping and data management, including confidential data
- Excellent organisational skills and high level of confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Experience of updating websites and work-related use of social media
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions where necessary
