We are looking for an organised, passionate individual to join our adult books Production team in a new entry-level Production Assistant role.
The Production Assistant will work across the whole of Pan Macmillan’s adult publishing programme. This includes lists such as Pan (Fiction and Non-Fiction), Picador, Bluebird, Macmillan Collector’s Library and Tor.
Reporting into the Production Manager, the role involves ordering reprints, working with text and cover files, liaison with printers and close collaboration with the rest of the production team. It will be an ideal first step on the path of a career in book production.
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent time management and be comfortable handling a demanding workload
- Be able to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Have excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers
- Have a passion for books and reading
Experience in the following areas would be beneficial but is not essential:
- An understanding of book production and / or printing processes
- Familiarity with Google for Work
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat, InDesign and other Creative Suite software
Job Description
This role is for a fixed-term period of 6 months, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
Salary: £26,000
