No two days will be the same as Highcrest's Assistant Head of Learning for Sixth Form (Maternity Cover). As the right hand man or woman to our busy Head of Sixth Form, this pastoral support role requires excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Term time only (plus one week for INSETs and one week in the Summer holidays)
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Salary details: BP3 currently from £23,152 Pro Rata (which equates to £20,124) depending on experience. Pay rise pending in April.
Contract type: Maternity Cover to December 2023
Hours: 37 hours paid working week, 8am – 4pm.

You will support the Head of Sixth Form in delivering exceptional pastoral support. This will be achieved through combinations of the following:
- Mentoring/coaching of pupils
- Management of pupil progress and assessment
- Management of pupils’ behaviour
- Management of resources
- Management of external liaison
- Co-ordination and delivery of interventions
Working in a busy environment, no two days will be the same and problem solving skills are essential. You will be able to understand children across the board (from those with learning difficulties to the most able) and know how to support both. Experience of working with secondary school age children or young adults would be an advantage, as would an interest in psychology and mental health.
