TOTAL AIRCRAFT P RODUCT SUPPORT
ROLE PROFILE
JOB TITLE Stores Inspector REPORTS TO Stores Manager

OVERALL PURPOSE
To carry out all work in compliance with procedures relating to the inspection functions of high quality/high value items in Stores and Goods Receipt/Packing – all within a modern 100,000 sq ft environmentally controlled warehouse facility.
MAIN DUTIES
Primary
- Goods inwards inspection and receipt activities.
- Goods out final inspection.
- Identification and packing of components and equipment.
- Identification, storage and location of components.
- Raising of verification and/or discrepancy forms.
Secondary
- The safe movement, storage or retrieval of items stored within the warehouse.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of components where required.
- Stock checking of storage areas.
- Ensure areas are maintained with good housekeeping practices.
- Assisting with warehouse activities as required.
- Any other reasonable task as directed by management.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- No job specific professional or academic qualifications are required but typically educated to GCSE standard in five subjects (A-C), or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a stores/warehouse environment required, ideally in the aviation industry, handling high quality/high value items.
- Awareness of airworthiness regulations with regards to release conditions for components
- Awareness of aircraft part handling procedures.
- Awareness of ESD (Electro Static Device) handling procedures.
- Awareness of aircraft parts packaging standards.
- Awareness of handling dangerous goods, as deemed so by IATA, with optional certification.
- Work within agreed operating procedures and be a competent user of all computer systems and applications, information systems, and equipment necessary for the role, including forklift truck use.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including quality, emergency/fire, and health & safety regulations.

- Proficient oral and written communication skills and listening skills, to interact successfully with visitors and people at all levels in the Company.
- Proficient IT/computer skills and competent user of standard packages and operating systems.
- Once priorities/assignments agreed, able to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Highly organised and process-oriented.
- Able to work to time restraints and cope with changing priorities throughout the daily duties.
- Work accurately, with good attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and confident.
- Team player and willing to work flexibly and assist colleagues as required.
- Able to pass fork lift tests to RTITB or equivalent standard to operate the Company’s reach and counter balance trucks.
- Known Consignor Modules 1-7 inclusive trained for transport security.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Employment in this role is subject to o Satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks o Employment History verification check for previous 5 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Inspecting components requires lifting and moving boxes, crates, trolleys and cages from one area to another throughout the department.
- Handling boxes requires repetitive motion.
- Able to read fairly small fonts on cartons for airway bill information.
Stores Inspector (Days)
- Typically 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover some 12 hour shifts, as required.
