Birmingham City Council are looking for friendly, enthusiastic & passionate people to join our team of Driver / Care Assistants at our day opportunity centres across various locations of the city.
Requirements
- A sensitive and compassionate approach to supporting adults physical & social needs.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Be a team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities.
- Are over 21 years of age.
- You will need hold a full UK driving licence and with 2 years minimum driving experience.
- Hold a category D1 on your licence, however this is not essential as we can provide training to successful candidates.
- Undertake the ‘Midas’ driver training qualification (paid by BCC).
Our driver / carers are the face of Birmingham City Council. This is an important role supporting our citizens to be transported to & from their homes to the day centre and activities in the local community. An ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence using the English Language as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016
