Job Description

Job description

Main Purpose of Role

We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our Citizens in Policing team to join our Youth Outreach team as a Force Outreach Worker.

The role involves providing positive engagement with young people aged between 8-16 years who are either vulnerable, socially excluded or involved in crime. As part of the role you will help to build better relationships between the young person and the police. In doing so, as part of the role you will work with the young person to help build confidence and to deter them from crime, to give them positive role models, help to give them a purpose and outlet and to help with anything else that the young person is lacking in.

The role will also include assisting the team with the organisation of events, working with local communities, working with external partners in relation to funding opportunities and providing one to one sessions with young people to provide support, guidance and intervention where applicable.

About Nottinghamshire Police

The primary base for this role is in the new Rufford Building at our joint Headquarters site, shared by Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. Within the same building we host a newly built gym and a canteen providing drinks and hot food throughout office hours.

The role does also require a degree of flexible working, travelling to and from meetings with young people and external providers, and working across different locations within the City and County.

Nottinghamshire Police strives to be an employer of choice and welcomes staff that want to be part of a progressive organisation, striving for the highest standards of public service.
